PADI Open Water Certification

As a certified  PADI Open Water Diver, the most widely recognized and respected rating in the world, you have the freedom to dive with a buddy independent of a professional. Virtually anyone who is in good health, reasonably fit, and comfortable in the water can earn a PADI Open Water Diver certification. If you are age 12 to 14 or have a child between these ages, there is a PADI Jr. Open Water Diver program available. You will learn the fundamentals of scuba diving by studying the PADI open water manual and watching a DVD. You will then complete five Confined Water (pool) dives, Water skills assessment, Knowledge Development sessions and by completing four Open Water (ocean) dives.

(A 12-14 year old Jr. Open Water Divers is qualified to dive only when accompanied by another certified diver  who is  of legal age)

 PADI Advanced Open Water Certification

After your five dives, you’ll be more comfortable in the water and simply enjoy diving more because you understand the underwater environment. The Advanced program at Dive Oahu has NO class sessions, only one orientation session. The home study and simple knowledge reviews make the bookwork easy. This allows you to concentrate on learning how to explore the underwater world with various types of dives that you can choose with your instructor. You will complete the deep and underwater navigation Adventure Dives. These dives boost your confidence as you build these foundational skills. Then, you choose three additional dives from more than 15 Adventure Dives to complete your course. You can go diving at night, check out the local wrecks in the area or take some really cool pictures of turtles– all during your PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course. You can complete the training in one weekend, or over two Saturdays or Sundays. Minimum Open Water Training: five dives over two days.
